Yang Style Taiji-Quan San Shou by Thierry Alibert
By Thierry Alibert "International Expert of Yang Style"
Presented in a pedagogical and most detailed manner, this film tackles a rare yet efficient codified fighting system (dui-da) of Yang Style. It exists thanks to Yang Shao Hou (1862-1930), the eldest brother of Yang Cheng Fu. Yang Shao Hou, a seeker like all the members of his family, put into light in this form a very precise work on the rotating dodge in order to practice fights in limited space. Here are the techniques used in the ancient form of the Yang school, from the “opening” to the “simple whip”, emphasizing the use of vital points (dim-mak). This practice will lead you into developing a good many qualities such as rhythm, explosiveness, precision, dodging, range…
You’ll be able to practice according to your level and your goals, gently and harmoniously, or dynamically and powerfully. Each sequence is presented in slow motion then in real speed, so that you can appreciate every detail. This work is then followed with an application with a partner, with targets and with a real situation demonstration.
